As Glass Guy, I focus on glass-only replacement for residential windows — perfect when:
A window is cracked or broken from impact
Your double-pane window is fogged or has moisture between the panes from a failed seal (IGU replacement)
The glass is scratched, etched, or stained beyond what cleaning can fix
What this service covers
Single-pane glass replacement in existing frames
Double-pane / insulated glass unit (IGU) replacement where the frame is still in good condition
Fogged or failed double-pane glass (condensation between panes)
Upgrading damaged glass to safety/tempered where required (e.g., near doors/baths, if you choose the correct glass type)
What’s included in a typical job
Inspection & measurement – I check that the frame is structurally sound and measure the glass accurately.
Glass sourcing – I order the correct glass or IGU (single, double-pane, low-E, tempered, etc., depending on what you need).
Removal of damaged glass – Safe removal of broken or failed glass from the frame.
Prep & install – Clean the frame channel, set the new glass, and install new sealant, stops, or glazing as needed.
Cleanup & disposal – Old glass removed from site and work area cleaned.
What this service does not include
Full window replacement (frame + glass)
Repairing rotted, warped, or seriously damaged frames
Structural changes to openings, trim, or stucco
Major energy-efficiency upgrades that require new full window units
If the frame is in bad shape or the problem is bigger than the glass, I’ll be straight with you and recommend a full window company instead of trying to patch something that won’t last.
